What to expect at your appointment

A practical guide to your ADHD assessment with Kavana, from booking to your results. You do not have to do everything at once.

Not open yet Assessments are coming soon. This page is here so you know exactly what to expect.

Before your appointment

About an hour in total, at your own pace. Please finish these in your Kavana account at least 3 days before.

If anything is difficult, or you would like more time or a different format, email us. Adjustments are normal here, and you do not need to explain why.

On the day

  1. Find a quiet, private room Somewhere you will not be overheard.
  2. Use a laptop or tablet if you can With a charger and a good connection. The video link is in your confirmation email and your account.
  3. We check who and where you are Your clinician confirms your identity and location at the start.
  4. The assessment Usually 60 to 90 minutes, using real examples from your life. Breaks and questions are fine at any time.

Afterwards

  1. Consultant review Our consultant psychiatrist reviews your full assessment and confirms the diagnosis.
  2. Your results The clinician who assessed you goes through the findings with you. We'll tell you when to expect this.
  3. Your report A full written report, whatever the outcome. See what it looks like
  4. Your GP With your agreement, we send a letter to your GP.
  5. Next steps If treatment is right for you, we explain the options. You do not have to decide on the day.
